Artists Call Out – AIR Sidi Ali

20 11 2012

Musicians, magicicians, writers, film makers, photographers, performers, visual artists and others.

Culture Vultures calls for applications to be part of an artists residency project organized around the Sidi Ali Mousseem (festival) in January 2013.  Just outside of Meknes in North Morocco the Sidi Ali Mouseem takes place for one week of pilgrimage and ceremonies, starting on the commemoration of the birth of the Prophet Mohammed and going on, day and night, for a week.

A program of talks, interviews, presentations, and facilitation around this both Islamic and folkloric festival will be put on for a small group of artists in the neighboring town Moulay Idriss Zaroune. Six months after the Mousseem in collaboration with the French Insititut in Fez, the artists will present the works inspired by AIR Sidi Ali.
