The Contemporary Art Gallery “Aquas,” the first in the medina of Fez, was born from the desire to create an exhibition space that can allow Italian and Moroccan artists, to be actively in intercultural dialogue as Francesco Paolo Ducci Foundation encourages Annamari for 15 years, through cultural promotion initiatives.
The word “Aquas” in Arabic means “arcs”. The architectural elements found inside the gallery symbolically invite the viewer to get to know different places and cultures. Moreover assonance with the Latin “Acqua” refers to the Mediterranean Sea which exchanges between different worlds that meet and merge, indicating that diversity that is born of a simple geographic distance.
This space is the brainchild of Paolo Ducci, of Francesco Paolo Ducci Foundation Annamari.
