Aid AL Mawlid..1433/2012

29 01 2012

Eid Al Mawlid Annabawi, the commemoration of the birth of the Prophet Mohamed, will be celebrated on Sunday, February 5, 2012,  1433 in the Islamic calendar.

In Morocco, every year on this occasion, the city of Salé hosts a large procession of candle-honored tradition that marks the celebration of Eid Al Mawlid Sharif Annabawi.

A few hundred kilometers to the east the imperial city of Meknes is where you will find more lively happenings. Aissawa dance and song, Hamadja, Ahaidous and more will gather for the 24 hour celebration. Word on the street is that one will also encounter trance and spiritual rituals that can be somewhat out of the norm.
