ALIF Riad :  Study/Culture Center

Last week ALIF (Arabic Language Institute in Fez) opened the doors of its new annex in Batha. The inspiring and tranquil space has been set up as a sanctuary from the hussle and bussle of the medina for ALIF students and members of Friends of ALC scheme as a meeting point, research centre and venue for cultural activities.   Offering wifi, quiet spaces, national and international press, reference books, spiced coffee and a program of cultural happenings,  ALIF Riad is a haven to be experienced.

Become a Friend of ALC by calling into the riad during open hours, with two passport size photos and a on-off fee of 250 dh (student and Peace Corps discount available) and becom informed of  and inspired by ALIFs facilities and cultural agenda.

ALIF riad is open from Saturday to Thursday , 12 – 3 p.m. and 5 – 8 p.m. and Friday,  5 – 8 p.m.

6 Derb Drissi, Batha. From the new Batha fountain turn towards Ziat and take the second left, from there you will encounter street plaques to indicate the entrance to the garden of wonders.

I think that this is an excellent development, however the closure of the facility for 2 hours in the middle of the day will dissuade many people from using the facility. An unbroken opening timespan would be much better.
